How the numbers work
Behind the planner
| Material | Rule of thumb used |
|---|---|
| Hot mix asphalt | 2.35 tonnes per m³ compacted, plus 5% |
| Concrete | Volume plus 8%, shown in m³ and cubic yards |
| Granular A | 2.2 tonnes per m³ compacted |
| Pavers | Area plus 7% for cuts; 4.5 holland pavers per sq ft |
| Sod | 9 sq ft per roll, plus 5% |
| Topsoil and mulch | Sold by the cubic yard (0.765 m³) |
